Around the New York Tracks We Shall Go
Last night was Ladies Night again at Buffalo Raceway as there were two pretty good races to be had at the Hamburg Fairgrounds. In the $10,000 Open Pace for fillies and mares, Tallia Ideal was able to take the $5,000 first place prize. Wanna Rock N Roll was trying for her sixth straight win going back to her last two races of 2016 at Batavia Downs, but starting from the six position was not beneficial for her. After some give and take, Tallia Ideal went to the front and stayed there, cutting fractions of 29, 59.2, 1:28.1 en route to a 1:57.2 finish. Kaitlyn Rae was second and Missevil third.
In the $8,200 race for pacers Scarlet N Silk rallied from fourth in the stretch to overtake Deliciously Naughty and The Filly Princess. The tempo was quick with fractions of 29, 58.1, 1:28.2 en route to a 1:57.4 finish.
Racing returns Friday at Buffalo Raceway with an 11-race card on “trotters night.” There are three big money races with a $10,000 Open Trot, along with two others at $8,200 and $7,400 respectively. On paper, the Open Trot looks like a race between Perfect Rendition and Noble Legend.
Don’t forget, tonight is week two of Racing at the Meadowlands with live coverage beginning at 9:30 on SNY. The plan calls for the broadcasting of three live races each week accompanied by expert opinions.
Friday night’s Yonkers card features a field of six in a $45,000 Open Pace for fillies and mares and Monticello Raceway will race on Friday with two $3,600 races.
On Saturday, the Buffalo Raceway feature is a $10,000 Open Pace while Yonkers features two $45,000 races; one for pacers and one for trotters.
See you at the races!
